The Lessons

  • Lesson 1

    Grounding + Visualization - This episode + action plan is all about managing our nervous system - heart rate, respiratory rate, and the feelings of anxiousness that often come with feeling perpetually stressed + overwhelmed.

    While we can’t magically erase that feeling and the things that cause it overnight, there’s a ton we can do right now to begin managing our physiological response to it - leaving us feeling calmer and better able to begin accessing the clarity we desire.

    In this lesson, we’ll learn how to document “wins”, progress, and “the good stuff” properly. You’ll learn one of Beth’s most favorite, wildly impactful tools that requires only 3 minutes of your day.

    Now, let’s talk about how important it is to start your day intentionally AND how - exactly - to make that shift with 5 strategies to ensure you’re in the driver’s seat.

    As is usual, these are designed and built for maximum efficacy in the least amount of time. You’ll check two of them off before you even get out of bed! How’s that for impactful time creation?

  • Lesson 4

    How to Plan Your Day (without being so rigid you can’t respond to life’s “little” curveballs)

    In this episode, I’ll share with you two options for creating your “to do” list for the day. I want you to explore what works best OR create a fusion that works even better for you.

    If you’re an obsessive, time-blocking planner seeking as much control as possible, don’t miss this and PLEASE don’t skip step 2. This is a vital step for an almost immediate increase in the amount of time available to you and decrease in pressure and stress.

    Boundaries are HARD - but they’re harder still for us people-pleasers, givers, and giant hearts.

    Why? Because, at least in the beginning, we’re combatting this deep rooted need within us for the appreciation, gratitude, and validation we receive when we help people or do for others.

    It makes saying “no” nearly impossible - not because we don’t want to, but because we’re fighting a battle on two fronts at the same time:

    One with the person that “needs” us

    Two with our own core wounds that created the need for us to constantly be doing, giving, and achieving to “earn our worth”

    In this episode, we explore 4 big facets to setting boundaries more easily.

These days, you’ll find Beth running 4 businesses and chairing volunteer organizations - if she’s not fishing or surfing or generally adventuring and soaking up this incredible life.

Before you get all “must be nice…”, you should know it wasn’t always this way - far from it.

“But how in the hell can she do all that AND have all this free time?!”

Very intentionally.

The good news is that you can, too - and, no, it doesn’t matter how busy or exhausted or overwhelmed you are right now. She’s seen the depths of all of that, too.

Burnout. High functioning depression. Divorce. Major health issues no one could solve. Chronic fatigue. Numbness. It’s all in there.

Traditional therapy didn’t work.

Every damn self-help book on the market didn’t work.

Forcing herself to put her health first and create more exhaustion through increased physical activity and a more restricted diet didn’t work. (Turns out, rest is a pretty important part of health and we high performers are wired to pretend like we don’t know that because it doesn’t feel productive…weird, right?)

What you’ll find in The Shift is the tools Beth gathered along her own way and, now, through her work with her elite clients, to break out of survival/reactivity mode and into a place where she could find the deep breath she needed to solve for the rest of it.
